Basil II, also known as Basil the Bulgar Slayer, was the Emperor of the Byzantine Empire from 976 to 1025. During his reign, he faced several significant wars, including the Byzantine-Bulgarian Wars. The most notable of these wars was the Battle of Kleidion in 1014, where Basil's forces defeated the Bulgarian army and captured 15,000 soldiers. This victory marked the end of the First Bulgarian Empire and solidified Byzantine control over the Balkans. Another important conflict was the Georgian uprising in 1021, which was successfully suppressed by Basil's forces. These wars and revolts align with the calculated timespan of Basil II's rule.
