One of the most notable conflicts was the Byzantine-Bulgarian war, which lasted from 967 to 971. This war saw Nikephoros II leading his forces against the Bulgarian Empire, resulting in territorial gains for the Byzantines. Additionally, in 968, Nikephoros II faced a rebellion led by Bardas Skleros, a prominent general. This revolt was eventually suppressed by the Emperor, solidifying his rule.
