Kublai Khan was the Emperor of the Yuan Dynasty, ruling from 1260 to 1294. During his reign, he expanded his empire and established the Yuan Dynasty as the ruling power in China. One of the most significant wars that occurred during his tenure was the Mongol invasion of the Southern Song Dynasty, which lasted from 1275 to 1279. This war resulted in the complete conquest of China by the Mongols and the establishment of the Yuan Dynasty. Another notable conflict was the Mongol invasion of Japan, known as the Mongol invasions of Japan, which took place in 1274 and 1281. Although these invasions were unsuccessful, they demonstrated Kublai Khan's ambition to expand his empire beyond China's borders.
