Matthias I, also known as Matthias Corvinus, was the King of Hungary from 1458 to 1490. During his reign, he successfully defended the Kingdom of Hungary against several significant wars and conflicts. One of the most important wars that occurred during his tenure was the Long Campaign, which took place from 1463 to 1464. This conflict was a series of military campaigns against the Ottoman Empire, aimed at reclaiming territories lost to them. Another notable war was the Black Army's uprising in 1471, led by the Hungarian nobleman, Pál Kinizsi. Matthias I's rule was marked by his efforts to strengthen Hungary's military and expand its territories, making him a prominent figure in Hungarian history.
