Taishō was the 123rd Emperor of Japan, ruling from 1912 to 1926. During his reign, Japan experienced significant political and social changes. The most important wars that occurred during his tenure were the First World War (1914-1918) and the Siberian Intervention (1918-1922). Although Japan officially joined the war on the side of the Allies in 1914, its involvement was limited to naval operations in the Pacific.
