Guangxu, Emperor (Joseon (Chinese Protectorate)) : All Data
Guangxu was the Emperor of the Qing Dynasty, ruling from 1875 to 1908. During his reign, he faced several significant conflicts, including the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895 and the Boxer Rebellion of 1899-1901. The Sino-Japanese War occurred within the calculated timespan of Guangxu's rule and resulted in China's defeat, leading to the loss of Taiwan and the ceding of territories to Japan. The Boxer Rebellion, also consistent with Guangxu's reign, was a violent uprising against foreign influence in China, ultimately suppressed by an international coalition. These conflicts marked a period of decline and turmoil for the Qing Dynasty.
