Taizong, also known as Emperor Taizong of Tang, was the second emperor of the Tang Dynasty, ruling from 626 to 649. Under his reign, the Tang Dynasty experienced a period of great expansion and prosperity. One of the most important wars during his tenure was the Goguryeo-Tang War, which lasted from 645 to 668. This conflict saw Taizong's forces successfully invade and conquer the Goguryeo Kingdom, expanding the Tang Dynasty's territory. Another significant war was the Tang-Silla War, which took place from 645 to 676. Taizong's forces allied with the Silla Kingdom to defeat the Baekje and Goguryeo Kingdoms, leading to the unification of the Korean Peninsula under Silla's rule.
