Valentinian III, Emperor (Kingdom of the Burgundians (Foederati)) : All Data
Valentinian III was the Emperor of the Western Roman Empire from 425 to 455. During his reign, he faced several significant wars and revolts. One of the most important conflicts was the Vandalic War, which occurred from 429 to 439. This war saw the Vandals, led by King Genseric, invade and conquer North Africa, severely weakening the Western Roman Empire. Another notable conflict was the sack of Rome by the Visigoths in 410, which happened prior to Valentinian III's reign but had lasting consequences. Additionally, there were ongoing tensions with the Huns, which eventually led to the Battle of the Catalaunian Plains in 451, where a coalition of Romans and Visigoths defeated Attila the Hun.
