Xianfeng was the Emperor of the Qing Dynasty, ruling from 1850 to 1861. During his tenure, he faced significant challenges, including the Taiping Rebellion (1850-1864) and the Second Opium War (1856-1860). The Taiping Rebellion, one of the deadliest conflicts in history, threatened the stability of the Qing Dynasty and resulted in the loss of millions of lives. The Second Opium War, fought against Western powers, further weakened China's position and led to the signing of the unequal Treaty of Tientsin in 1858.
