Henry III, King (Lordship of Ireland) : All Data
Henry III was the King of England from 1216 to 1272. During his reign, he faced several significant conflicts, including the First Barons' War (1215-1217) and the Second Barons' War (1264-1267). The First Barons' War erupted due to the discontent of English barons with Henry's rule, resulting in the signing of the Magna Charta. The Second Barons' War was a power struggle between Henry and Simon de Montfort, culminating in the Battle of Evesham in 1265. Despite these challenges, Henry III is remembered for his patronage of the arts and architecture, including the construction of Westminster Abbey's iconic Gothic architecture.
