Charles Emmanuel II was the Duke of Savoy who ruled from 1638 to 1675. In the Franco-Spanish War, Charles Emmanuel II initially supported Spain but later switched sides to join France, resulting in the Treaty of Turin in 1696. The War of Devolution saw Charles Emmanuel II aligning with France against the Spanish Netherlands, leading to the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle in 1668.
