Victor Amadeus I was the Duke of Savoy from 1630 to 1637. During his reign, he faced several significant conflicts, including the War of the Mantuan Succession (1628-1631) and the War of the Escartons (1630-1632). The War of the Mantuan Succession, which began before his reign but continued during his rule, involved a struggle for control over the Duchy of Mantua. The War of the Escartons, on the other hand, was a conflict between the Duchy of Savoy and the Dauphiné over the territories of Briançon and Queyras. Despite these challenges, Victor Amadeus I managed to maintain his rule over the Duchy of Savoy.
