Carlos I was the King of Portugal from 1889 to 1908. However, the most notable war that occurred during his tenure was the Anglo-Portuguese Ultimatum Crisis in 1890, which strained relations between Portugal and Britain. This crisis ultimately led to the fall of Carlos I's government and the rise of a new political regime in Portugal.
