Faroald II was a Duke who ruled over the Duchy of Spoleto from 713 to 718. During his tenure, the most significant war was the Lombard invasion of the Byzantine Exarchate of Ravenna, which occurred from 713 to 727. This conflict saw the Lombards, including Faroald II, successfully seize control of Ravenna and establish their dominance in the region. Additionally, in 715, Faroald II faced a revolt led by the Lombard nobleman Ratchis, who sought to overthrow him and claim the duchy for himself. However, Faroald II managed to suppress the revolt and maintain his rule over Spoleto.
