Frederick I, also known as Frederick VI, was the Elector of Brandenburg from 1416 to 1440. During his reign, he faced several significant conflicts, including the Hussite Wars (1419-1434) and the War of the Mainz Succession (1427-1431). The Hussite Wars, which erupted in 1419, were a series of religious and political conflicts in Bohemia that involved various European powers. The War of the Mainz Succession, occurring between 1427 and 1431, was a territorial dispute over the Archbishopric of Mainz. Despite these challenges, Frederick I managed to maintain stability and expand the influence of the Electorate of Brandenburg during his long and eventful reign.
