Bagyidaw was the seventh king of the Konbaung Dynasty, reigning from 1819 to 1837 in Burma (present-day Myanmar). During his rule, he faced significant challenges, including the First Anglo-Burmese War (1824-1826), which resulted in Burma's defeat and the signing of the Treaty of Yandabo in 1826. This war, occurring within the known timespan of Bagyidaw's reign, marked a turning point in Burmese history, leading to the loss of territory and the imposition of British control over parts of Burma.
