One of the most significant wars that occurred during his tenure was the conflict with the Sultanate of Ifat, which lasted from 1329 to 1332. Amda Seyon I led his forces to victory, capturing the city of Ifat and incorporating it into the Ethiopian Empire. Another notable war was the campaign against the Kingdom of Damot in 1335, where Amda Seyon I defeated the Damot army and annexed their lands. These military victories solidified his reign and contributed to the growth and stability of the Ethiopian Empire.
