Dawit II was the Emperor of the Ethiopian Empire from 1507 to 1540. During his reign, he faced significant military challenges, including the invasion of the Adal Sultanate led by Imam Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Ghazi. The most important war that occurred during his tenure was the Battle of Amba Sel, which took place in 1531. This conflict marked a turning point in the Ethiopian-Adal war, as Dawit II successfully defended his empire and defeated the Adal forces. Despite facing numerous revolts and conflicts throughout his reign, Dawit II's leadership and military prowess allowed him to maintain the stability and independence of the Ethiopian Empire.
