Yekuno Amlak was the Emperor of the Ethiopian Empire from 1270 to 1285. During his reign, he faced several significant conflicts, including the War of the Emperors. This war took place from 1270 to 1272 and was a power struggle between Yekuno Amlak and his rival, the former ruler Yagbe'u Seyon. Another notable conflict was the War of the Insurrection, which occurred from 1270 to 1277. This revolt was led by the nobility and aimed to challenge Yekuno Amlak's authority. Despite these challenges, Yekuno Amlak successfully established himself as the ruler of Ethiopia and laid the foundation for the Solomonic dynasty.
