al-Mahdi bi'llah was the third Caliph of the Fatimid Caliphate, reigning from 909 to 934. During his rule, he faced several significant conflicts. In 909, shortly after ascending to the throne, al-Mahdi led a successful military campaign against the Abbasid Caliphate, capturing Egypt and establishing the Fatimid Caliphate. In 919, he faced a major revolt led by Abu Yazid, which lasted until 927 and posed a significant threat to his rule. Despite this, al-Mahdi managed to suppress the rebellion and consolidate his power.
