Engelbert Dollfuss, Chancellor (Federal State of Austria) : All Data
Engelbert Dollfuss was the Chancellor of Austria from 1932 until his assassination in 1934. During his brief tenure, he faced significant challenges, including the Great Depression and rising tensions with Nazi Germany. Although Austria did not engage in any major wars during Dollfuss' rule, his time in power coincided with the Austrian Civil War of 1934, a conflict between the government and the Social Democratic Party. This internal strife further destabilized the country and ultimately led to Dollfuss' assassination by Austrian Nazis in July 1934.
