Hammurabi was the sixth king of the First Babylonian Empire, reigning from -1792 to -1750. He is best known for his codification of laws, known as the Code of Hammurabi, which established a comprehensive legal system in ancient Mesopotamia. During his rule, Hammurabi engaged in several military campaigns to expand and consolidate his empire. One of the most significant wars was the War of Larsa, which took place from -1763 to -1761. This conflict saw Hammurabi's forces clash with the city-state of Larsa, resulting in Babylonian victory and the annexation of Larsa's territory. Another notable war was the War of Elam, occurring from -1762 to -1761, where Hammurabi successfully repelled an Elamite invasion and secured his southern borders.
