Omurtag was a Tsar who ruled over the First Bulgarian Empire from 816 to 831. During his reign, he faced several significant wars and conflicts. Another important conflict was the Bulgarian-Byzantine War of 821-822, where Omurtag successfully defended his empire against Byzantine aggression.
