Azzo VI, Signore (ferrara) : All Data
Azzo VI was the Signore of the Signoria of Ferrara from 1209 to 1211. During his rule, he faced the challenges of the War of the Ezzelini (1209-1213) and the War of the Guelphs and Ghibellines (1209-1228). The War of the Ezzelini, also known as the Ezzelino Conspiracy, was a conflict between the Ezzelini family and the Papal States, which lasted throughout Azzo VI's reign. The War of the Guelphs and Ghibellines, a long-standing conflict between the factions supporting the Pope (Guelphs) and the Holy Roman Emperor (Ghibellines), also overlapped with Azzo VI's rule, lasting until 1228. Despite these challenges, Azzo VI managed to maintain his rule over the Signoria of Ferrara during this tumultuous period.
