Bernardino Machado, President (portugal) : All Data
Bernardino Machado was the President of the First Portuguese Republic from 1915 to 1917 and again from 1925 to 1926. During his tenure, Portugal was involved in the First World War (1914-1918), where it initially remained neutral but later joined the Allies in 1916. Machado's rule also witnessed the Portuguese involvement in the Rif War (1921-1926), a conflict between Spain and the Rif tribes in Morocco. However, it is important to note that Machado's rule ended in 1926, and the full period of his rule does not cover the entirety of these wars.
