Charles the Fat was a King who ruled over West Francia from 884 to 888. During his reign, he faced several significant wars and revolts. One of the most important conflicts was the Viking Siege of Paris in 885-886, where Charles successfully defended the city against the Viking invaders. Another notable event was the revolt of the nobles in 887, led by his nephew, Arnulf of Carinthia, which resulted in Charles being deposed and replaced by Arnulf as the new King of West Francia. Despite his short and tumultuous reign, Charles the Fat played a crucial role in defending his kingdom and facing internal challenges.
