Tashfin ibn Ali was an Amir who ruled over the Almoravid Caliphate from 1144 to 1145. During his brief tenure, he faced significant challenges, including the ongoing conflict with the Almohads. In 1144, the Battle of Alarcos took place, where the Almoravids suffered a major defeat at the hands of the Almohads. This battle marked a turning point in the power struggle between the two dynasties. Although Tashfin ibn Ali's reign was short-lived, his rule coincided with the critical Battle of Alarcos, which had a lasting impact on the Almoravid Caliphate's decline.
