Yusuf ibn Tashfin was an Amir who ruled over the Almoravid Caliphate from 1076 to 1106. During his tenure, he led his forces in several significant wars. One of the most notable conflicts was the Battle of Zallaqa in 1086, where Yusuf defeated the Christian armies of Alfonso VI of Castile, halting their advance into Muslim territories. Another important war occurred in 1090, when Yusuf successfully defended his realm against the rebellious Banu Ghaniya dynasty in the Balearic Islands.
