Duwa Khan was a ruler of the Chagatai Khanate from 1291 to 1307. During his reign, he faced significant military challenges, including the Mongol invasion of India led by his cousin, Qutlugh Khwaja, in 1298. Duwa Khan successfully defended his territory and even managed to capture Qutlugh Khwaja, solidifying his control over the Chagatai Khanate. Another notable conflict occurred in 1303 when Duwa Khan allied with the Ilkhanate to launch a joint campaign against the Golden Horde. This war, known as the Koyuk Kurgan campaign, resulted in a decisive victory for Duwa Khan and his allies. Despite these military achievements, Duwa Khan is also remembered for his efforts to promote trade and cultural exchange along the Silk Road.
