Francesco Molin was the Doge of the Republic of Venice from 1646 to 1653. During his reign, Venice was involved in several significant conflicts. One of the most important wars was the Cretan War, which lasted from 1645 to 1669. This war saw Venice fighting against the Ottoman Empire for control of the island of Crete. Another notable conflict was the War of Castro, which took place from 1649 to 1652. This war was fought between Venice and the Papal States over territorial disputes in central Italy.
