Jacopo Tiepolo was the Doge of the Republic of Venice from 1231 to 1249. During his reign, he faced several significant conflicts, including the War of the Lombard League (1226-1248) and the War of the Guelphs and Ghibellines (1237-1249). The War of the Lombard League, which began before Tiepolo's rule, continued throughout his tenure and involved various Italian city-states fighting against Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II. The War of the Guelphs and Ghibellines, which started in 1237, was a conflict between the Guelphs (supporters of the Pope) and the Ghibellines (supporters of the Holy Roman Emperor). Tiepolo's rule witnessed the culmination of this war, which ultimately resulted in the victory of the Guelphs.
