Icon James VI and I, King (scotland) : All Data

James VI and I was a Scottish king who ruled from 1567 until his death in 1625. He ascended to the throne of Scotland in 1567 and became the first monarch to rule over both Scotland and England in 1603. During his reign, he faced several significant conflicts, including the Nine Years' War (1594-1603) and the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648). However, as his reign ended in 1625, these wars occurred after his rule, and thus, the most important war that happened during his tenure was the Nine Years' War.
