Kublai Khan, the Great Khan of the Mongol Empire, ruled from 1260 to 1294. During his reign, he expanded the empire's territory, establishing the Yuan Dynasty in China. One of the most significant wars that occurred during his tenure was the Mongol invasion of the Southern Song Dynasty, which lasted from 1268 to 1279. This conflict resulted in the complete conquest of China by the Mongols and the end of the Song Dynasty. Another notable war was the Mongol invasion of Japan, known as the Mongol invasions of 1274 and 1281. Although these invasions were unsuccessful, they demonstrated Kublai Khan's ambition to expand his empire beyond the Asian mainland.
