Nikephoros II Orsini was a Despot who ruled over the Despotate of Epirus from 1338 to 1359. During his tenure, the Despotate faced several significant conflicts. One of the most important wars was the Byzantine civil war between John VI Kantakouzenos and John V Palaiologos, which lasted from 1341 to 1347. Another notable conflict was the Epirote-Nicaean War, which occurred from 1348 to 1350. Additionally, Nikephoros II Orsini had to deal with the Serbian invasion of Epirus in 1356.
