It emerged form the partition of the Gour Kingdom in 630 AD. It was located in the Sylhet region of Bangladesh.
Establishment
January 631: The Jaintia Kingdom was partitioned in 630 AD by Raja Guhak for his three sons: the Jaintia Kingdom, Gour Kingdom and Laur Kingdom.

Islamic conquest of Srihatta (present-day Sylhet, Bangladesh) led by Sikandar Khan Ghazi, the military general of Sultan Shamsuddin Firoz Shah of the Lakhnauti Sultanate, against the Hindu king Gour Govinda.
January 1304: Shamsuddin Firoz Shah was the ruler of the Lakhnauti Sultanate, while Gour and Taraf were important territories in the Gour Kingdom. In 1303, Shamsuddin Firoz Shah successfully incorporated Gour and Taraf into his expanding kingdom.
January 1171: Due to familial tensions the Gour Kingdom split into two separate kingdoms in 1170: Gour (Northern Sylhet) and Brahmachal (Southern Sylhet).
January 1253: Raja Govardhan reunited the Gour Kingdom in the early years of his reign.
January 1259: Establishment of the Twipra Kingdom.
January 1261: Gour Govinda conquered the Kingdom of Brahmachal.
Disestablishment
