Was one of the precolonial polities that existed on the island of Sulawesi (Indonesia).
Establishment
January 1301: The earliest textual reference to Luwu is in the East Javanese court poem Desawarnana, dated 1365. However, there is no convincing archaeological evidence of Bugis settlement in Luwu before c.1300 CE.

Were a series of military operations by the Dutch Empire to occupy South Sulawesi (modern-day Indonesia).
January 1906: The Kingdom of Luwu was absorbed by the Dutch East Indies.
January 1351: By the mid-14th century Luwu had become the feared overlord of large parts of the southwest and southeast luwu peninsula.
January 1401: Bone was an adat-based Bugis kingdom whose origins can be traced back to the early 15th century.
January 1501: In the early 16th century the kingdom expanded northwards, fighting with Luwu for control of the mouth of the River Cenrana a major east coast trade exit.
January 1801: In the 19th century, Luwu had became a small kingdom. James Brooke, who would later become Rajah of Sarawak, wrote in the 1830s that "Luwu was the oldest, and most damaged, Bugis kingdom.
Disestablishment
January 1906: The Kingdom of Luwu was absorbed by the Dutch East Indies.
