Was one of the private colonies of the American Colonization Society (ACS) founded in Liberia that would later merge to form the Commonwealth of Liberia (a predecessor of modern-day Liberia). It was located in the modern-day Liberian county of Sinoe. The ACS was an organization that encouraged and supported the migration African-Americans to Africa.

The Mississippi in Africa Colony was founded in 1835 by the Mississippi and Louisiana State Colonization Societies. This colony was located in present-day County Sinoe and had Greenville as its capital.
