The Southern Operations Room is a Syrian rebel coalition consisting of various Syrian opposition groups that operated in the southern provinces of Syria.
Establishment
December 2024: Rebels captured the cities of Daraa and Izra.

Initially a series of anti-government protests and revolts across the Arab world, it soon evolved into a series of wars. The wars caused by the revolts are sometimes referred to as the Arab Winter.
1.1.Syrian Civil War
Is an ongoing civil war in Syria between the government (the Syrian Arab Republic) and several factions. The civil war started in 2011 with protests, part of the wider Arab Spring, caused by discontent with the Syrian government.
1.1.1.Israeli invasion of Syria
After the Fall of the Assad Regime, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) to take control of the Purple Line, a demilitarized zone from which Israeli forces had withdrawn in 1974, until a new agreement could be reached with the emerging Syrian government.
1.1.2.2024 Syrian opposition offensives
Was a major offensive by a coalition of Syrian revolutionary factions. It eventually resulted in the Fall of the Assad Regime and the Creation of the Syrian transitional government.
December 2024: Several towns in Daraa Governorate came under the control of local forces organized in the Southern Operations Room.
December 2024: Busra al-Harir, Nawa, Mahajjah, as well as the entire Jordanian border region, fell completely under rebel control.
December 2024: In Suwayda protesters took over the city
December 2024: By the beginning of 7 December, rebels had captured 90% of Daraa Governorate, with the exception of Sanamayn.
December 2024: Rebels also seized Quneitra Governorate after pro-government forces withdrew towards Damascus.
December 2024: The Syrian Army surrenders the capital Damascus to the opposition.
December 2024: The Syrian transitional Government was established in December 2024 by the Syrian opposition after Ahmed al-Sharaa, Emir of Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham and now the de facto Syrian head of state, appointed Mohammed al-Bashir as Prime Minister, replacing Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali on 10 December.
