Osorkon II was a Pharaoh who ruled over Ancient Egypt from approximately 872 to 837 BC. He was a member of the 22nd Dynasty and his reign was marked by several significant conflicts. One of the most important wars during his tenure was the Assyrian invasion of Egypt, which occurred around 853 BC. This invasion led to a period of Assyrian control over parts of Egypt, including the city of Memphis. Another notable conflict was the revolt of Thebes, which took place around 850 BC. The Theban revolt was a major challenge to Osorkon II's authority and resulted in a prolonged struggle for control over Upper Egypt.
