Peter II was the King of the Kingdom of Aragon from 1196 to 1213. During his reign, he faced several significant conflicts, including the Albigensian Crusade (1209-1229) and the War of Las Navas de Tolosa (1212). The Albigensian Crusade, led by the Catholic Church against the Cathars, began before Peter II's reign but continued throughout his rule. The War of Las Navas de Tolosa, fought against the Almohad Caliphate, took place in 1212, overlapping with Peter II's reign. Despite his efforts, Peter II tragically lost his life in the Battle of Muret in 1213, marking the end of his rule.
