Establishment
January 1907: The Emirate of Asir was founded in 1906 by Sayyid Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Idrisi as a result of a rebellion against the Ottoman Empire.

Was a global conflict between two coalitions, the Allies (primarily France, the United Kingdom, Russia, Italy, Japan, and the United States) and the Central Powers (led by Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire). It was mainly caused by the competition of the western countries over domain in Europe and in the rest of the world with their colonial empires. The war ended with the defeat of the Central Powers. The war also caused the Russian Revolution and the ensuing Russian Civil War.

Was the theatre of war in the Middle East during World War I.
January 1916: By 1915, with the first world war in full swing, Al Idrisi established contacts with the British through its administration in Aden. With the new connections, the Idrisids occupied over the Farasan Islands, and later parts of Northern Tihamah and Al Luḩayyah.
Were a series of wars and events that resulted in the establishment of modern-day Saudi Arabia.
October 1926: Due to the fear of his realm being annexed, especially by Yemen, the Emir signed a deal with Ibn Saud on a protectorate treaty in which the foreign policy would be handled by the Saudis.
May 1927: The Treaty of Darin was superseded by the Treaty of Jeddah. It recognised the independence of Ibn Saud and sovereignty over what was then known as the Kingdom of Hejaz and Nejd.
December 1910: Throughout October and November, Idrisid troops occupied Abha.
January 1917: The Sheikdom of Upper Asir was an Arab state which was established in August 1916, after it broke away from the Idrisid Emirate of Asir.

This led him to contacting the Imam of Yemen, being dissatisfied with Saudi overlordship. King ibn Saud responded with carrying out the full annexation of the Emirate in 1934 (in accordance with the Treaty of Taif).
