Was one of the Taifas (independent Muslim principality) in the Iberian Peninsula that emerged in the period following the fall of the Umayyad Caliphate of Córdoba.
Establishment
January 1011: The Taifa of Valencia was established in 1010.

The Caliphate disintegrated in the early 11th century during the Fitna of al-Andalus, a civil war between the descendants of caliph Hisham II and the successors of his hajib (court official), Al-Mansur, leading to the establishment of a multitude of independent Muslim kingdoms (taifas).
Were a series military campaigns from the 8th century until 1492 by the Christian kingdoms of the Iberian Peninsula to reconquer the region from the Islamic rulers that had conquered it during the Umayyad conquest of Hispania.
January 1088: Alfonso VI of Castile and León conquers the fortress of Aledo in Murcia.
January 1095: El Cid, a Spanish knight and military leader, conquered Valencia from the Moors in 1094.
January 1100: The Taifa of Valencia fell to Castile.

January 1076: The Taifa of Valencia frees itself from Toledo.
January 1087: The Taifa of Murviedro and Sagunto existed for a short period from 1086.
January 1146: After 1145 the Taifa of Valencia was able gain independency from the Almoravids.
January 1146: The Taifa of Murcia fell to Valencia.
January 1148: The Taifa of Valencia existed from 1147.
January 1148: The Taifa of Valencia is acquired by the Taifa of Murcia.
January 1148: The Taifa of Murcia becomes independent from Valencia.
January 1173: All of Muslim Iberia was under Almohad rule by 1172.
January 1230: The Taifa of Valencia becomes independent from the Almohads.
Disestablishment
January 1239: Taifa of Valencia conquered by Aragon.
